Alvin, Texas Speed Traps

Speed limit is 20 mph on Tovrea. All other streets are 30+ mph. Officer will sit looking south from the BBQ restaurant parking lot and catch you when you go over the tracks headed north. BBQ restaurant is a big favorite of the local cops so you expect a police car to be there.

This is one street north of Sealy and a lot of people take it because there are no lights. This is a four way stop, but most people treat it like a yield. Toward the end of the month police will park on Durrant to catch people speeding down Willis. The police never park there for more than five minutes without pulling someone over. I’ve seen them pull over eight to ten people in a row.
