Austin, Texas Speed Traps
Bee Caves Rd Between 360 and Mopac
Several cops have been waiting in the same area just after a hill or curve in the road regularly for the past week.
Wells Branch by the Long John Silvers
They park on the sidewalk on a blind turn in front of the LJS just after Regions bank. The speed limit is 40
Enfield Road and Woodlawn Ave
I live on this street corner and continuously watch policemen back into the median facing north on Woodlawn in front of Enfield and speed out to pull people over. The speed limit it 35mph and as people are heading towards Lamar from Mopac, they tend to average 40-45 and these cops are banking because of it. Definitely more of an occurrence at night, and usually sit without any lights on. Be careful, it’s a cash cow spot.
Southwest Parkway East of Hwy 71
Officers sit in median and radar cars traveling west as speed limits decrease from 55 to 40.
U.S. Hwy. 183 & Exit at Oak Knoll Dr.
Targeting drivers on U.S. Hwy. 183 going north in the morning, they use the bad design of the Highway’s exit at Oak Knoll Dr. Drivers have to make 3 lane changes to get on the Frontage Road to get into the business park. So, they are ticketing excessively for unlawfull lane change. Then they target commuters going south on the way home on U.S. Hwy. 183 – same area.
