Austin, Texas Speed Traps
183 south in front of Rudy’s BBQ
Austin Police Dept. Crown Victoria sitting behind road sign with no lights on, and his arm just pointing out thw window with his gun, real sneaky, huh? I was trying to keep up with a friend and he picked up the Lasar Detection, and he was going about 50 mph in the right lane, and I passed him doing a shy 93mph in the left lane, well I didn’t think I was going to get a ticket by APD, util I remembered they had arrested me the past summer in my Z-71 for racing!! Well look out and SLOW DOWN ITS A NEIGHBORHOOD
38th Street between Red River & Duval
Usually in car, catching people on both ends east/west bound parked across the street from the Hancock Golf course on the side streets. Very sneeky, lots of activity at night this last month.
HW 71 East Just West of Riverside
Officer in Cruiser sits with lights off in the first driveway entering the strip office center housing IKON, Verio and Sitel just infront of the 71/Riverside intersection. Have only witnessed him go after people going east on 71 towards the Airport. Hes there almost every morning.
Wells branch Pkwy, a little east of Merrilltown traffic light.
Motorcycle cops (normally 2) pull speeders over at the U-turn median break (E. of Merrilltown), since it’s wide enough. One motorbike cop clocks traffic from there and radios another mobile motorbike cop, who’ll pull the hapless offender over.
183 South Just past Oak Knoll and the Dunkin Donuts
Motorcycle sits behind that concrete barrier under the tree–usually several more cycles/cars on 183 proper waiting for you; if you don’t exceed 50 on service road, you are okay–they seem to ignore people who speed up as they hit the entry ramp to 183
