Bulverde, Texas Speed Traps
281 N at 1863
On 281 N just north of 1863 as you pass the on ramp from 1863 there is a gravel spot off of the shoulder where peddlers like to park, but I have seen Bulverde PD sit here and they get people traveling north and see on coming southbound traffic. The people coming north sometimes are not paying attention because its right after a turn and are looking north in the distance and don’t see the car off to the right. There are some tress between a fence and the shoulder where they can squeeze in and hide better.
281 North at St Andrews Way
I have seen Bulverde PD in the blue cars sitting off the shoulder right before the subdivision entrance. There is a big sign on the gravel/cement easement which provides cover to them as you zip along. Most times I saw them sitting in the shade in the morning or after 5 pm when there’s cover for them. Thy like to get you with the radar in the back windshield as you come down the hill.
Hwy 281 N at Casey Rd
On 281 going north right as you pass the turnaround before Casey Rd I have seen Bulverde PD sitting way off the shoulder where some trees that hang over the fence and give shade which they sit and face north bound traffic.
US 281
Bulverde Police stake out this busy US Hiway as a huge revenue producer.
This area is posted at 65, but most other areas are 70.
Its controlled access and divided 4 lanes, and hilly, which gives the greed mongers many places to hide.
Highway 46 near Riverway Drive
Sheriff Patrol cars are the primary ones who use the vacant lot next to the bank located one street over to park and shoot radar. Bulverde police on the other hand are a little sneakier and park in the bank parking lot.
