Cedar Park, Texas Speed Traps
US HWY 183A Toll Plaza
Motorcycle cops hide behind closed toll booths on both sides of the road with radar guns. They often play tag team with one cop gunning, and the other busting.
On 1431 just east of Cottonwood (between Parmer and 183)
Police sit less than .2 miles past the location where the speed limit changes from 60 to 45 going west and hit you with radar as soon as you are at the sign. Their lights go on before you even pass them. I got a ticket there and have seen at least 20 others. There is a traffic light right after that (at Cottonwood) and a major shopping area so everyone has to slow down right away… meaning it is not an area where speeding is an issue. Definitely a speed trap.
US-183A Nb at Avery Ranch Rd
Cedar Park PD motorcycle with laser in US-183A (toll road) median at north end of concrete guard barrier on Avery Ranch Rd bridge.
Sunchase Road
In Ranch at Cypress Creek on Sunchase between Zepplin and Autumn Fire. Usually early in the morning at or before sunrise so you can’t see them. Sometimes in early evening at dusk. Sometimes on side streets like Autumn Fire. Motorcycle and patrol cars used.
Cypress Creek Boulevard near US Highway Between 183 and Lakeway
Cypress Creek Boulivard is Wide open 4 lanes with a left turn lane in the middle. It is very straight between Lake line and US 183. Cedar Park PD likes to sit on the side under trees and shoot radar at unsuspecting drivers going over 40 M.P.H. The road fells like your in slow motion at this speed.
