Cedar Park, Texas Speed Traps
Entire city limits
I don’t live in Cedar Park, and seldom go there. However, on my 4 passes through in the last 2 years–I must have seen at least 3 or 4 of their cruisers with cars pulled over (or going after someone). All of them were running radar. Speed limits seem really slow in many areas that are not particularly heavily traveled. Watch out on the weekends. Locals will know more specifically what areas the officers favor. Best to do the limit in this town.
Old Highway 183, next to the fire station
Just after pulling onto Old Highway 183 (the road the runs behind Callahan’s) from Brushy Creek, heading north, the road veers slightly to the right. It’s straight for a couple of a hundred yards then, and you can see a dumpster at the end of the straight part (the dumpster is for the fire station). Watch that dumpster! I’ve been nailed by a Cedar Park cop sitting in a cruiser hiding partially behind it, and I’ve spotted motorcycle cops fully behind the dumpster numerous times. I see them most right around dusk. They aim their radar guns back down the straightaway to catch people accelerating away from Brushy Creek. The motorcycles are funny, though: The cops must not realize that the cycles are longer than the dumpster. If it looks like the dumpster has reflectors on it, watch out! The reflectors are really mounted on the cycles.
Hatch Road, near intersection with Meadow Lark
Motor-cycle or car-based officers with a radar gun, not visible to drivers because of a bend in Hatch Road. The speed limit of 30 mph is unrealistically low. Traffic flows quite safely at 35-40 mph.
Lakeline Blvd, between Buttercup Creek and Cypress Creek
Motorcycle cops off of their bikes, hiding behind trees near side streets. This section of the street is 35 MPH. The speed limit to the south is 45 and to the nort 40, making it a convienient court revenue collection area.
Cypress Creek Rd.
Around ACC Cypress Creek campus, and schools nearby, im not sure where exactly they sit, they seem to come out of nowhere.
