Celina, Texas Speed Traps
TX 289 @ County Rd 100
289/Preston Rd 1/2 mile south of Celina High School. Celina officers sit blocking the left turn lane, hidden by trees in the median. Officers watch both northbound and southbound traffic. 2 out of 3 times I pass this area there’s an officer running radar there.
One wonders if accident data supports this level of enforcement, or is it just an easy place to hide and generate income for the city.

FM 428 near the Denton County Line (Curve)
Between the new extension of the Dallas North Tollway and the Denton County line, police will sit in the ditch with lights off at night time or sit at what is known as the "policemen’s curve" and clock the drivers over a mile away. At night time, they will ride behind you with no headlights for some distance to see what they can get you on. This as happened to a family member several times over a 3 week period. You don’t even have to be speeding, if you have a light out on your license plate, they will pull you over.
