Clear Lake, Texas Speed Traps

Officers will hide in the exit area of the Bay Area Park that has two brick walls on either side of the exit.

This is a fake school zone that is 2 miles away from the nearest school. It lasts only for less than one block in the middle of Bay Glen subdivision, but is a favorite hunting ground for local cops anxious to meet their monthly quotas. My daughter was ticketed for doing 28 mph (the limit in the subdivision is 30 mph) and the cop seemed especially pleased that she was 17 years old and had only received her license 2 weeks earlier.

There’s a 20 MPH school zone on Space Center Blvd west of Clear Lake City Blvd, just as you pass the last entrance to the neighborhoods (Bay Pointe & Northfork). When this school zone light is blinking, HPD cops sit in the turn median just around the curve, especially looking for westbound traffic.

Cops will hang out in the medians and side streets between Space Center Blvd and Hwy 3. The speed limit is 35 but it is very easy to be doing 45 without realizing it. My wife has already received two tickets on this road!@!

On Bay area blvd there are 2 public park entrances. The Speed Limit goes down from 50mph to 40mph in that area, so the the Police will sit in one of those entrances ..so keep your eyes peeled
