Coppell, Texas Speed Traps
N Denton Tap x Parkway + 0.2mi north
Double white motorcycles facing north and south, near bridge over Creek, in the median opening that allows access to/from Andy Brown Park. Observed 11am. The southbound cars from Hwy 121 going to I-635, or Sandy Lake will enter bridge deck before being able to see motorcycle(s) from a distance of 460ft.
Westbound Sandy Lake 1/4 mile before Hwy 121 intersection
White SUV with radar parked 8am in in the "do not drive on me" striped median, facing west looking at cars from Grapevine Mills head on. The SUV will check westbound Sandy Lake cars heading towards Hwy 121, DFW, Grapevine and many other destinations. Westbound Sandy Lake drivers may anticipate 121 intersection light turning green during 1 minute approach. It is difficult to spot in time if the car 300 yards ahead is in parked the median or is the last car in the line waiting for left turn green onto southbound Hwy 121. Speed limit 40.
Southwest corner of Sandy Lake x Denton Tap
White motorcyle near Exxon gas station, and Arbor Manors drive. Eastbound Sandy Lake cars can see the moto from 0.2mi distance before reaching Sandy Lake x Denton Tap photo enforced intersection. Laser with binocular assisted aim. Moto could easily sneak up from behind, for westbound cars not looking in their rearview very often.
North Coppell Rd x Canyon Dr
Turning from Sandy Lake into North Coppell Road heading for 121 and Lewisville, you will see a flat road section of 0.5 miles. The "telegraph road" is ideal for radar team waiting in white SUV on the private drive next to Canyon Rd. Observed sunday 1pm. Possibly a weekend special only. Cars heading towards Sandy Lake are also followed, because many think it is just a silly SUV coming out of the parking lot.
Southbound Belt Line Rd x 635 bridge deck
Motorcycle on bridge deck with laser measuring speed of cars on southbound Beltline Rd. Motorcyclist drives S.B. Beltline the wrong way a bit and then stops on the left side of the median on the rumble strips (what becomes the left turn lane for eastbound 635 service road) to face S.B Beltline cars head on. The Dividend Drive to 635 bridge is 0.4 miles, and has a shallow crest just before the bridge. Hackberry Rd to bridge is 440ft. At the border between Coppell and Irving.
