US Highway 59 near city limits on the south side of town

Corrigan, TexasMar 06, 20040 Comments

Local police usually sit in center turning lane at the 55MPH marker on the south side of town. Police most commonly target the inbound (north bound traffic) on US 59. Speed limit drops from 70MPH to 55MPH in a 1/4 mile and in a another 1/4 mile goes to 35MPH. My advice get a radar detector and LEARN how to use it… it does take some skill. I have started to picked up the cops there about a mile away with my cobra… good luck!

The cops are always backed off the road just far enough to get you. the speed limit goes from 70 to 35 in just a few miles .

He sits in the tall grass on the southbound side of the highway were you can’t see him until he has already got your speed. His location is just north of the truckstop. Right before you get to him the speed limit goes from 70 to 55.

The Officers will parked on the North side of the road between log trucks that are parked. You can not see them, and they will ticket for all offenses. You are close to the city limits which inbound the speed limit is 70 then drops to 55. the only real indication that there is a town at that point is a city limits sign and the officer. out bound it is so easy to speed up when there is nothing but highway and woods around but, you are not clear at that point. do the speed limit!

Do not speed through this little town!! They will pull you over for as little as 2 mph over the limit. The speed limit changes several times in this town (from 70 to 50, 50 to 45, 45 to 40, 40 to 35, 35 to 30) and if you aren’t going the correct speed BEFORE you get to the speed limit sign, they will pull you over. Speeding tickets are a large source of revenue for this town, and it only has 1 judge, so forget getting out of it!!
