Dallas, Texas Speed Traps

One or more Constables set up near the Race Track gas station taking radar for north bound traffic coming off the bridge over I-30. If the officers are not there you can usually find them in the Circle Grill restaurant sipping coffee accross the street. BTW the one listed for Big Town Blvd at I-30 could be dropped. Mesquite upped the speed limit to 40 back in 2009 and you never see a cop there now. Boy did they fill their quotas back in the old days though

Deputies like to stop underneath the overpasses at either Jefferson Blvd. or Davis St. As they wait in the shadows of the overpass (which makes them difficult to see from a distance), they clock the speeds of passing traffic (either northbound or southbound) with a radar gun. If they clock someone going too fast, they award a special driver’s certificate that will cost a chunk of money.

This stretch of freeway is infamous for small town cops! If you’re headed northbound from Houston to Dallas, the speed limit changes from 70 to 65 at around mile marker #244, and then from 65 to 60 at mile marker #267. It’s easy to miss these subtle changes, but the cops are waiting in anticipation!

The Interstate is under construction between Hillsborough and Waxahatchie (TX) and this small town "deputy Dog" city policeman at Italy, TX camps out in the construction machinery and nails people driving with the flow of traffic going toward or from the Dallas metroplex area. I 35E is the major Interstate out of Mexico running through Texas to the Canadian border at Duluth, Minnesota
