All Residential Streets

Deer Park, TexasNov 13, 20091 Comments

In order for 20 mph speed limits in residential areas to be enforced, the City must have approval from TxDOT. If not, the speed limits are statutory and set at 30 mph. I found this out from an officer when I complained of the speeders (school moms) up and down Meadow Lark, which is posted at 20 mph, the same as a school zone, but it is not enforced. If you are ticketed in a residential area in Deer Park, check the Offical, Legal speed limit that applies to that street, regardless of the signage.

W San Augustine St & E Clare

Don’t go over 30 mph anywhere on St Augustine between Georgia Avenue & Center. There are 2 cops working this most of the time. One sits just past Georgia on one of the streets to your left or in a driveway on San Augustine on the right that has fences so you can’t see him until it’s too late. The other one parks close to Center at one of the businesses on the right side. Both write tickets all day long…..

West P Street

This is West P Street going into the High School from Center Street. The speed limit is 20, and if you are going even 25, you will get pulled over. I know of so many people who gets tickets right in that area, so be careful.

All Neighborhood Streets

Deer Park, TexasNov 12, 20090 Comments

All neighborhood streets have a speed limit of 20. Be very careful, if there is an officer around you Will get a ticket.

Also, X street heading east from Center to Luella, officers hide behind the storefront close to Center. Speed limit there is

13th Street

Also, on 13th street coming from Georgia towards Center speed limit is 40mph then drops to 30mph after the activity center. Just go the speed limit on San Augustine too many places they can hide. On Pasadena it goes from 40mph to 35mph when you’re going towards Center from the Jr. High and they hide in that area. Hide in the church parking lot on 13th street coming from Luella towards east. All up and down Center, usually in the Subway and Luby’s parking lot. Later at night on Center when there are fewer cars on the road, cops drive up and down Center shooting radar, so speeding late at night on Center=death 80% of the time. There is also a speed trap going down San Augustine to Pasadena goes 40 to 35 and Pasadena cops like to be sneaky there. Most of these places traps are highly in effect PM rush hour and late at night. Go the speed limit in Deer Park…too many places cops hide!
