Bell Avenue near Administration Drive

Denton, TexasFeb 18, 20040 Comments

Southbound Bell Ave., south of Administration Dr., goes throught the TWU campus. The speed limit is 20, which is understandable since it’s a campus, but it’s downhill and it’s nearly impossible to go 20. I’ve seen cops several times sitting at Old Main or Texas and I’ve seen them go after speeders.

North Texas Blvd and Welch Street

UNT Police are always out there. They use stationary/mobile RADAR, LIDAR, and operate from vehicle, foot, and even bike. The speed limit around campus is 20 MPH, but they will usually give you until 31MPH.

I35E between McCormick and Avenue D

Denton, TexasFeb 21, 20030 Comments

Denton police regularly observe I35 and all Exit ramps, as this is the primary access to UNT. Officer stands in the grass between the highway and the exit ramp with a radar gun on a tripod, officers wait in business parking lots on the access road. Even if you don’t get stopped, beware of people slamming on brakes when they see the officers.

Carroll Blvd. from Sherman Dr. to Eagle Dr.

Denton, TexasJan 15, 20030 Comments

For the next 30 days the Denton Police Dept. Traffic Enforcement Section will be conducting assertive speed/intersection/seatbelt enforcement along the main arterial segment of Carroll Blvd. The increased number of accidents of all categories (property damage, personal injury, & fatality) over the past couple years have prompted this effort. Remember, it’s 35 mph through there. Thanks for paying attention, and maybe you won’t have to meet one of us.
