Dobbin, Texas Speed Traps
Usually on the west side of Dobbin as you enter from Grimes County going east. Pressure from unwary drivers speeding up behind or passing those who have been stopped before, can be dangerous. Dropped speeds are placed at an unreasonable distance from Dobbin on both ends of the community. Be careful to avoid drivers who are impatient.
As you enter Dobbin, Montgomery County from the west the speed limit drops from 70 to 60 and then again to 50 mph. When you enter from the east it goes from a 60 mph zone to a 50. There is heavy enforcement in that area. they only give you 7 to 10 mph over the posted speed zone, the 50 mph zone goes for several miles. Drivers must pay attention and be carefule, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety work this area.
Leaving Grimes County and entering Montgomery County on Hwy 105 the speed drops to 60 and them to 50 well before you arrive at the one horse town of Dobbin. They are waiting just inside the county line to catch folks who miss the sign.
Two to Three Police car sitting along side of the highway just out of site and just beyond the drop in speed from 70 (one way) and 65 (other way) to 50 mph. Primary time of month is 1st and last week and weekends. Easily can witness 2 or 3 car pulled over at a time. Good luck drivers and slow down.
