El Paso, Texas Speed Traps
Gateway Street near Woodrow Bean/Transmountain Drive
Going West on woodrow bean at the crossing under the freeway just west of Wal mart. Radar cameras take your picture even if you don’t run the red light sometimes. Very evident at night when the flash goes off.
Dyer Street near Atlas Drive
Right in front of Moye Elementary during the summer watch out of the 15 mph school zone lights. If they are on even with no kids present they stop for lucky ‘speeders’ over in the bowlero lanes parking.
Interstate 10 near Lee Trevino Street
Under the overpass, just after the offramp for Lee Trevino on I-10 West, I always see a motorcycle cop sitting in the shade. He’s there in the middle of the day when traffic is light and it’s easy to speed. He’s easy to spot, as that is not a well-hidden area, but once in a while he’ll catch someone. Just keep an eye out for him and watch your speed on that part of the freeway.
Northloop Loop near US Highway Americas
It is a check point to see if drivers have insurance going west on Northloop by El Rancho El Rey estates (East El Paso)
375 Loop near Interstate 10
There is usually either a motorcycle or cop car right as the median divider begins (or ends, depending which way you are going) on Loop 375 as you get to I-10. This is where the dirt dividing Loop 375 ends & the I-10 overpass begins (south of I-10). They mostly target trafic going south on the Loop, but they will go after people in both directions.
