Preston Road through Highland Park. The street is a major north south through the township of Highland Park. the speed limit is 30 mph. Tickets are written for 33 mph. The street curves and officers have estate driveways to park in and lots of streets on the west side to hide for south bound traffic.

City of Highland Park officer regularly sits in the parking lot of a strip shopping center at Mockingbird and Airline (adjacent to SMU campus). He will ticket for as little as 2 miles over posted speed limit of 30 mph. When attending court for a ticket issued to me, out of 41 people there for their court setting, this one officer had issued 28 tickets, all on Mockingbird between Hillcrest Avenue and North Central Expressway.

Preston and Mockingbird Dallas Texas

Highland Park, TexasApr 27, 20030 Comments

Small department with 30 a day quota per shiFort Officers work a lot of stationary radar on Preston and Mockingbird roads. Preston road is a wide four lane road that would easily support 40 mph but is set at 30. Mockingbird is a much narrower road and the 30 mph speed limit is easier to justify here.
