Houston, Texas Speed Traps
I-45 Southbound Feeder near Cullen and the University of Houston
The downhill grade causes the vehicle to accelerate, and despite braking attempts to stay within the speed limit, this is a prime spot for the police to issue speeding tickets.
I-45 S feeder towards Hobby airport, Pasadena/Park Pl exit
I45 S heading towards Hobby airport, when there is traffic, gps routes you to the Pasadena exit then Park Pl/Broadway to the 45S feeder as it’s 3 minutes faster according to gps, speed limit is 40 but everyone goes 50. About midway between the Park Pl/Broadway exit and before Broadway (street that takes you straight to Hobby), bike cops hidden on the right side right on Berkley St, one is on the side of the road pointing a laser, if you are speeding he steps into the road and directs you to the side. This way they can pull over many cars at once.
Washington Ave and Old Katy Rd Bridge
Police are setting up speed traps before the bridge overpass where Washington Ave becomes Old Katy Road. This is a 35 MPH limit that builds into a 45 MPH. The trap is right before the limit becomes 45 MPH. Nearly every car is speeding and they will get you for going several miles over the limit.
Tuckerton between Barker Cypress and Queenston
Constable sometimes hides there and shoots laser just past the bridge going over the creek/ditch. A radar detector isn’t going to save you. Constables almost always gives you a ticket so watch out. There isn’t any businesses there and it is smoothly paved, easy to speed and they know it.
