Eastbound I-635 after Beltline Rd bridge

Irving, TexasJun 23, 20110 Comments

Motorcycle with laser in the median. The entire 3 miles stretch from Hwy121 to Freeport to Beltline exit is ridden by extremely poor lane discipline, causing irritation and congestion. At the left bend, and drive under the Beltline Rd bridge, many drivers go for left lane to finally leave the left lane lolly-gaggers in the rear view mirror. Unfortunately the policing is for speed, rather that left lane hogging.

Eastbound I-635 Exit Ramp to MacArthur Blvd

Irving, TexasMar 26, 20110 Comments

White vic with laser or radar along I-635 feeder, measuring eastbound cars that exit from I-635, and drive feeder to Olympus Drive or MacArthur Blvd (1.9 miles ahead). Cars that enter feeder from Beltline Rd can easily see car waiting at the “road closed” stub from a 0.3 mile distance, but cars on interstate exit ramp will first go over small hillcrest before having full visual. If you park at the stub you can see cars exit I-635, disapear for a short moment and then popup in full view after the crest. Line of sight from stub to crest is 200 yards. Interstate speed 60mph, feeder has 55 mile posted at the spot where the Dont Cross White Double Lines begins (dbl white separates exit ramp traffic from 2 other lanes).

NB 161 Service Road between Hwy 114 and MacArthur Blvd

Irving, TexasFeb 19, 20110 Comments

Local Police park in entryway at Microsoft & TXU Building and use laser radar on vehicles who have exited Hwy161 at MacArthur Exit. Speed limit is 45 mph.
See traffic patrol 3-4 times a week, usually on evenings and weekend.

183 Westbound at 161

Irving, TexasFeb 05, 20110 Comments

As you’re heading west getting close to 161, you go slightly downhill. Police will be behind the supports for 161. Many times they will have multiple cars there. Most people are going 65-75 mph and the speed limit is 55. Irving only allows you to take defensive driving to have the ticket taken off your record. I got a ticket going 65 while other passed me and didn’t get pulled over. The ticket was $165.00.
