Mason Road near Clay Road

Katy, TexasOct 18, 20070 Comments

Sheriff sits regularly on N. Mason Rd. off to the side, in the baracaded (right) to the intersection of Enclave Mist, just before Clay Road. Speed limit is 35, well posted, but quite un-realistic. Traffic typically moves 40-45, and my back yard is to Mason, so I hear this cop ‘shooting fish in a barrel’ all afternoon long. I’ve seen them sit a little south of there too, but usually ‘trapping’ only between Lakes of Bridgewater drive, and Clay Rd. Parts of mason between ‘lakes’ and I-10 are 45 so no problem there.

Kingsland Boulevard near Mason Road

Katy, TexasOct 15, 20070 Comments

Officer D Thomas sits here regularly to catch you at this ridiculous speedtrap. The speed limit on Kingsland is 40 mph eastbound from the Grand Parkway to a little street called Pickford. There are 2 consecutive 40 MPH signs on this route to lull you off your guard. Without warning, a small speed limit sign changes this 4-lane boulevard to a 30 MPH speed trap. At 6AM when I travel this route, I have seen him 5 times this month. There are no visible (or invisibile, for that matter) landmarks which seem to coincide with this ridiculously low speed. It is clearly designed to be a speed trap. Immediately after passing Mason Road, 6 tenths of a mile later, the 40 MPH speed limit resumes. I was going 41 and he had the nreve to tell me to “slow it down””. Did I mention RIDICULOUS? :^)”

Westgreen Boulevard near Franz/Saums Road

Katy, TexasSep 20, 20070 Comments

When heading N. on Westgreen Blvd towards Saums/Franz Rd. a Sherif sits in his car at the darkest spot on the street between two medians. It is so dark in the evenings you can not see him until it’s too late. This is a great spot to write tickets to drivers not use to the area. People that live there know about him and usually slow down.
