Katy, Texas Speed Traps
Westheimer Road between Fry and Hwy 6
Favorite place for cops to sit is in near the entrance to the new soccer fields closest to Fry Rd. They catch you where the posted speed limit changes from 45 to 40 on this long stretch of four lane divided highway through open country.
Anywhere
Anywhere you go in Katy, especially in Old Town Katy, there are lots of police using radar, laser, camera, anything to get you. It would not be smart to speed here unless you’re stupid and want a ticket, or you want to get your car searched.
Clay Rd. and Barker Cypress
Of course there’s the courthouse down the road on Clay and the cops don’t like to stray away from their home. There is usually a cop sitting in the Kroger parking lot right behind the sign and trees. You can’t see him till you get right up to the sign. Another sits right after Barker Cypress continuing on Clay towards Fry. He loves to sit in the shopping center parking lot.
I-10 East bound Feeder at Mason Rd. Park & Ride
Officer was standing next to roadway with Radar gun, Vehicle parked in park and ride speed drops from 55 to 40mph, catching vehicles going east past Mason RD.
I-10 East at Grand Parkway
I-10 east used to be 70 now 55 in Houston. (55 mph zone starts about 20 miles out west of houston; about 5-10 before katy mills). Exiting 10 to grand parkway, cop shoots K band.
