Kingwood, Texas Speed Traps

Just north of the KW Dr exit on the feeder speed limit drops to 40 MPH. They are usually by the entrance to Kingwood funeral home on foot waving folks into the funeral home parking lot.

They have eased up somewhat lately due to construction that limits the access to the funeral homes lot, as soon as the construction clears they’ll be right back out there in full force.

School zones for Bear Branch Elementary and Pines Montessori schools overlap; however, the private school, Pines Montessori, starts their times earlier and ends them later. Everyone assumes that the normal school zone times prevail, especially after reading the signs for the public school. Most people don’t read another sign because they figure they’ve just read it. Same constable sits and traps on any given day. Don’t know if he is being paid by the school or if this is his primary patrol job.

This trap uses 3 police cars, # 1 cop gets the people with a radar gun, cop # 2 pulls them over, cop # 3 writes the ticket. This is nothing but a revenue generator.
