Lott, Texas Speed Traps

May 21, 2014 Exactly the same way I receive my ticket. Word for word.
The speed limit is 70 then drops to 55 abruptly. Some where after that the limit drops to 45 according to the officer who stopped me. The officer was facing east and west and stopped for speeding north and south on 77. The officer took several minutes to approach my vehicle and asked why i was speeding. He actually too out after the vehicle behind me. I was sure it was that vehicle. But he said it was me. I informed him the last speed limit sign saw was 55 mph before town. He informed me there is a 1000 yards of 45 mph speed limit after the 55 mph sign. I told him i must have missed it with all the street signs and Hwy 77 signs all over. The officer said he would be right back with me. About 5 minutes later the officer came back and gave me a ticket for speeding 61 in a 45 and asked if I had any questions. He stopped me way passed the 70 mph speed limit sign going south so why is there 3 different speed zones within a mile of each other in both directions. After reading other posts about Lott, TX I see why it is a speed trap now. The office also did not indicate whether he was using stationary radar or moving radar.

speed goes from 70 to 55 at city limits of lott,police hit you with radar in the 70 mphzone on the south side of town, and then pull you over leaving town on the north side of town by another police car saying you were doing 70 in a 55mph zone. result- $197.00 —– Thank you for providing our only income in the city of Lott,Texas

$674.00 for a 72 in a 55. The speed signs are very close to each other and this may be legal to the letter of the law but this IS NOT ETHICAL!!

Sits besides city limit sign in the middle of the night with his lights off. Cant fight the tickets because he tags on "exceed Prima Facie limit at time and place for that type vehicle" I was slowing down gently with a trailer at 1:30 AM. Nobody else on the road. This is a no warning ticket everybody and everything town.

Speed trap is located throughout this very small town. Speed goes from 70 to 55 really far outside of town, with an open line of sight for a hiding cruiser. Revenue generation at its finest.
