Pasadena, Texas Speed Traps
Beltway 8 Road near Fairmont Boulevard
This alternates between Fairmont @ the beltway and Preston @ the beltway. They park a police car under the bridge. There is not a cop in the car, just a dummy. I know because I drive past it and have seen the dummy sitting there.
Red Bluff between 225 and Washburn Tunnel
There is a railroad bridge with an underpass and a hill on the other side – the posted limit is fair and safe, but people constantly go over the limit which is dangerous with the hill and limited vision – but it does give the officers a good place to hide.
Shaver Road between Hwy 3 and Fairmont/Edgebrook
As you travel east on Shaver coming from Hwy 3 you will enter the Pasadena city limits from Houston. The cops will be on the side of the road and will motion for you to pull over. The posted speed limit is 45 in Houston and drops to 35 as you enter Pasadena. This is obviously a speed trap designed to pay for the overzealous Pasadena police.
Red Bluff Road and Spencer Highway
Red Bluff has a 55 speed limit but suddenly drops to 40 with only one sign posted right at the traffic light at the intersection before Spencer…. So if you find that light green you’re most likely to miss that sign and the next one isn’t there till the road meets Spencer and in between you’re easily caught doing 50ish in a 40 zone.
Red Bluff
He stands there at the traffic light at the intersection of Red Bluff (north bound) and fairmont pkwy; and just waives you in (no need for chasing). The speed goes from 55 to 40 just before the lights. LOTS of people caught speeding
