Rio Vista, Texas Speed Traps

It extends for at least 3-4 miles north and south of the town of Rio Vista on State Highway 174. There is no tolerance for any speed above 55 mph.

Major income producer! Watch your speed in and out of the city limits. The officers are at both ends of the town nearly every day. The city limits extend much further than you would expect. Beware!

Arrogant and rude police

Radar and usually a patrolperson driving or watching.

The speed limit on Highway 174 drops from 60 to 55 mph about two miles outside the small village, and drops again to 45 mph through the “business district””. Lots of enforcement. You rarely go through Rio Vista without seeing a car pulled over by the police.”
