SW Military behind Bynum AND Old Persall RD

San Antonio, TexasSep 17, 20031 Comments

You may be ticketed by a State Trooper, Sheriff’s Deputy (umarked car) SAPD, Constable, etc. I have seen them all there. They will be hiding on either side of the overpass laying in wait in the morning, noon or night. SAPD will be there in the AM, Sheriff likes to be there at night, state trooper and constable in the day time. I am surprised that the school police hasn’t stop someone since they travel thru here to get from west campus high school and the other schools in the district. Since the speed limit posted is 45 ( too slow for traffic) and onthe other side the traffic can drop to 20, makes for a good trap.

Watch out anywhere in alamo heights. they are very money hungry. their main income is from traffic and speeding tickets and the cops get extra for for pulling you over.

Shavano (De Zavala by Clark and from Huebner to 1604 on NW Military)

San Antonio, TexasJan 10, 20030 Comments

I’ve never been ticketed in this area (everyone knows how infamous Shavano is for its speeding tickets), but every single time I drive through here at least one person is, or I see a cop with a radar gun hidden in trees. The 35mph limit from NW Military until you reach Clark is killer. They’re everywhere. NEVER speed in Shavano, no matter what kind of rush you’re in.

Bandera Road, off 410

The Leon Valley Police are rutheless in ticketing on Bandera road as you exit 410. There is little tolerance for using the access road to slow down as you exit the highway. Revenue trap–completely!

HWY 281 Northbound – next to the Airport

San Antonio, TexasJul 25, 20020 Comments

Driving Northbound on the freeway just shortly after crsossing 410 there is a slight hill across from La Quinta. In the median there tends to be an officer at odd times of the day sitting below the otherside of the hill, practically invisible. I’ve been the victim and seen many others fall prey to this “hiding under the ridge tactic””.”
