Speed limit is 80. I had cruise control set at 82 and on-board GPS unit which verified that exact speed. State trooper said he clocked me at 90 on radar. Seems like a money making operation to me. I recommend going below the speed limit in this county.

State trooper in crossover shoot radar and give speeding ticket for 3 – 5 miles over limit. If you fight the citation be sure and check the court to see status of your case.

making a right turn toward San Angelo at the stop sign, there is NOT a speed limit sign. there is a 45 mph about 3/4 mile to your left in the city limit. next sign you see is 55 mph about 1 mile after making your right turn to San Angelo

I found out after I received a speeding ticket, that Sonora was a big speed trap. The speed limit is 80 mph, but the area is very desolate. Texas DPS patrols this area, and enforces it regularly. The officer made me “step out of the vehicle”” to prior to issuing my ticket. Keep at the posted limit several miles prior to arriving Sonora.”
