Sonora, Texas Speed Traps
I10, mile marker 414
Speed limit is 80. I had cruise control set at 82 and on-board GPS unit which verified that exact speed. State trooper said he clocked me at 90 on radar. Seems like a money making operation to me. I recommend going below the speed limit in this county.

Interstate 10 near Exit Number 404
I found out after I received a speeding ticket, that Sonora was a big speed trap. The speed limit is 80 mph, but the area is very desolate. Texas DPS patrols this area, and enforces it regularly. The officer made me “step out of the vehicle”” to prior to issuing my ticket. Keep at the posted limit several miles prior to arriving Sonora.”
