Spring Branch, Texas Speed Traps
Spring Branch Rd.
The 30mph posted speed limits is way under realistic driving conditions. One section is even 20mph! The county sheriff hides along the road with radar.
U.S. Hwy. 281 to Guadalupe River Bridge
Comal County Sheriff’s officers hide in the trees of the median of both North and South bound U.S. Hwy. 281 with radar. From the Guadalupe Bridge north to Bulverde, Comal officers patrol heavily. Beware of U.S. Hwy. 281 from Hwy 46 to Borgfield Rd. both Comal and Bulverde officers patrol heavily.
Spring Branch Road near State Highway 281
Officer backs into driveways of personal property and waits for speeders- The speed limit is 35, but most vehicles traveling that road are going well over 45. I was stopped right at the turn into Spring Branch Road- had barely made it onto the road. The officer said I was going 48! Almost impossible I thought, but now I am wondering if he had locked in someone elses speed that was traveling on the highway! Watch out- he’ll getcha!
Kempwood Drive near Gessner Road
trap is between Gessner and Beltway 8. 30 mile per hour. Many side streets for police to sit out of view.
State Highway 46
The level varies daily so I put ‘high’ since it is very often true. I often run into 4 or 5 Comal County Sherrif cars with radar within minutes of each other driving on 46 between 281 all the way to Loop 337 in New Braunfels. Also I see Comal County Constables and State Troopers writing tickets- sometimes all 3 are out there at same time!
