On Utah State Hwy. 63 from Hwy 12 toward Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon, UtahAug 26, 20110 Comments

After turning from UT-12 onto UT-63, the hwy travels into a small town I was told was called Bryce; the highway is named Main Street through this area. The speed decreases from 55mph to 45mph to 35mph in the town. When exiting the town, the 45mph sign is visible which would indicate the highway is resuming and the speed would return to the original highway speed of 55mph. This does not materialize and the highway patrol spends their day writing citations for speeders leaving the small town who increase above the 45mph and those entering the town who do not slow down soon enough to 35mph. I witnessed many tourists being pulled over after me leaving the town and many as I entered the town after visiting Bryce Canyon. The officer had no compassion and I am certain they count on tourists simply paying the ticket rather than returning to their fine state to contest the citation. I have decided our nation has plenty of beautiful landmarks and national parks that reside outside the state of Utah and plan to never return!
