Escalante, Utah Speed Traps

Ouch!! Speed limit drops from 60 to 30 mph when lanes widen from two to four. Very deceptive. Just a couple buildings and an intersecting road, no sidewalks or other obvious indications of a town. No different than many other areas of Route 12 that maintain a 60 mph speed limit.

New Chevy SUV sitting by road looking eastbound. Detector picked him up first time. Same unit driving eastbound got me while I was on return trip. Used instant-on. Was traveling between Escalante and Tropic. $107 fine for 15 over. Officer was very nice, gave me huge break…really huge break.

several cities from Bryce canyon east with speed limits of 45mph in the city. Escalante has sign of 35 hidden cop waits arround a blind curve with radar gun at school on hyway 12 with 25mph speed limit.No warning. They prey on out of state cars only. Three Utah cars were in front and one on my side, none of them were stopped at same speed.
