Grantsville, Utah Speed Traps
State Route 112 near Durfee Street
As Sr 112 enters the Grantsville area, the speed limit changes from 60 to 50 to 35 over the course of approximately a mile and a half. There is a curve where 112 and Durfee intersect and it is a bit of a blind curve due to some horse fencing along the side of the road. Many people like to continue towards the stoplight at Main Street going well above the posted 35 mph limit. The officers will sit either +/- 100 feet past the curve or closer to the small strip mall at the intersection of 112 and Main Street and wait for drivers to come around the curve over 35 mph, which is frequent. Officers will change location, but they will always be on the straight section of road past the curve to clock.
Also on 112 going to Tooele, the speed limits go from 35 to 50 to 60 leaving Grantsville. At night, officers will park several yards past the curve of the road and will catch drivers that are going past the 35 mph limit before it changes to 50.

State Route 138 near Clark Street
Clark Street is just before a curve on SR 138. Speed limit changes just around the curve from 40 to 50. Cops patrol all day and night. Not an ounce of forgiveness. You will get cited. Grantsvilles speed limits go up and down all through town and they will get you. Use your cruise control.
