Cherry Lane-Westbound

Layton, UtahApr 17, 20100 Comments

On Cherry Lane heading from Highway 89 the speed Limit is marked as 30 mph, since the rolling hills that you have to go down, it is hard to maintain 30 mph. I have had a officer tailgate me from the top of Cherry Lane to the end (which is at Fairfield Rd.) Be cautious to watch your speed, and brake quite often to maintain 30 mph. I decided to turn off a road so the officer could not tailgate me no longer. Because some Layton police officers decide to tailgate you to see if you’ll speed and then catch you.

Fort Lane near Gordon Avenue

Just before Gordon Ave., there is a cop that likes to hide out in this general area. The cop is typically on one of the side roads, and is just after the speed limit drops from 40 to 30 mph. The cop is looking for people going 40 mph, and has pulled over a lot of people I know for speeding there.

Cherry Lane near US Highway 89

There are Layton Officers that tuck themselves on the east side of an LDS Church on the East end or Cherry lane, near Hwy 89 and futher West closer to fairview also in an LDS Church, The Speed is Posted at 30 but the Grade of the street in both places seemes to get you going a litter faster and they know it. The Goverment keeps trying to seprate Church and State, But these Officers don’t seem to mind using the Mormon Parking lot to get ya.

Interstate 15 near Antelope Road

Layton, UtahMay 15, 20050 Comments

When heading north or south it is very common to see marked cars parked under the overpass. Sometimes they will be facing north and other times they will be facing south. There is a barricade running to middle of the freeway under that bridge, so I cant imagine they will tag you on both sides, I think it is one side or the other. I have never been pulled over here, so I can’t say for sure how they work it, but there is not a lot of room to turn around. I am sure I have been clocked at 70 mph and not been pulled over.

State Highway 89 near Oak Hills Drive

Layton, UtahJun 03, 20040 Comments

It starts at Oak Hills Dr. and stretches the lenght of Layton on HWy 89. I saw 4 motercycle cops up there on 6-2-04 around 5pm. It is always risky to speed up there but Layton has stepped up the enforcement lately. Be careful!
