Berlin, Vermont Speed Traps
Paine Turnpike, immediately south of the water filter plant
Heading toward Montpelier on the Paine Turnpike, the trap is on the right hand side just before you get to the Montpelier City water filtration plant. It’s quite hard to see the police car since there is a guardrail hiding it, but there is a clear view for the police for at least a thousand feet. They will catch you in both directions as they also have a good shot toward Montpelier at cars coming around a corner. Anything over 45 is a pretty certain ticket. They are there almost daily, especially around 9:00 AM.

Interstate 89 near Exit Number 6
Applies to North bound traffic, passing Exit 6 of I-89. Location typically in U-Turn, but occassionally on Shoulder between Exit 6-5 Northbound.
I-89N & S immediatly before Exit 7
Speeds in excess of 80 mph will result in stop
Just after exit 6 on ramp on Rte. 89
Just after Exit 6 northbound on Rte. 89, there is a bridge, a corner and a large rocky area. The State police sit on the small acess road just after this "cliff" area in the median. There is an incline leading to this area, and it is all too common to be speeding when you pass the access road. This is a tricky area both north and south bound, as there are commonly two troopers parked there, one facing each direction. I have seen many cars pulled over here, particularly on Fridays and sunny Saturdays.
