New Haven, Vermont Speed Traps
southbound on southbound Rt. 7 just past change 50 to 40
Knowing the posted limit has been 50 mph for miles and miles, you come over the top of the hill and encounter a 40 mph sign, but before you can react to it, the officer clocks you speeding (i.e., going 50). Can’t fight it, but it sure gives the town of New Haven a "sneaky" reputation.

Especially at night (any time the used car lot is closed), a wily Sheriff may be hiding in the used car lot here. He’s trying to pretend to be just another car for sale, and the Sheriff’s car is tough to notice until you’re right on top of him. I was once told (no idea if he’s quite this clever or not) that it can be an unmarked car, even with a For Sale sign. What I’ve personally seen has been marked cars, but well concealed. Note: this is a SUBARU dealership that would have very little reason to have a Ford on the lot-if you spot a Ford or Chevy, the chances are that you found the Sheriff.
