Rutland, Vermont Speed Traps
U.S. Hwy. 7 South – New England Air Parking Lot next to Citgo Store
Rutland city police sit in the New England Air parking lot next to the Citgo station on the right as you are heading south on U.S. Hwy. 7. Speed drops from 40 to 35 mph just before that. They use Lidar and you can’t see them until it’s too late! It is a very sneaky spot for a speed trap. It is right across from the Army/Navy store which is on the corner of North Street.
Rte. 7 at car dealerships
This is a nasty one: Twice I’ve seen a city patrol car parked in the entrance of either the Honda or Toyota parking lots at the end of a row of cars for sale. I’ve only seen it at night, so I didn’t realize it until I was past him. He blends right in with the cars for sale…
Post Rd. & US Route 7 N
Rutland Town constable likes to sit in the parking are located at the corner of Rte 7 and Post Road. He sits in an unmarked blue fullsize GMC truck. Speed limit through this area is 40 so make sure that’s the speed you are doing or he will nab you—-trust me I speak from experience.
State Route 7 near Post Road
Police regularly sit in the rest stop at the corner of Rt.7 and Post Rd. in Rutland Town in AM rush hour and PM rush hour giving tickets.
