On Rt. 100 heading out of Waitsfield after the elementary schoo

Waitsfield, VermontFeb 12, 20120 Comments

There is a 50 mph sign that was laid on the ditch during Catrina Flood. On the opposite side of the road coming in the opposite direction is a 40 mph sign. The local Sheriff will pull you over if you are doing more than 40 mph between the sign laying on the side of the road and the 50MPH sign just after Kenyons, which is for the road coming onto Rt. 100 across form Kenyons. To me this section on road is 50 mph and the sign should be fixed!!!

Sheriff speed trap for motorist traveling north into Waitsfield where speed limit drops from 40mph to 50mph

State Route 100

Waitsfield, VermontApr 27, 20050 Comments

Surrounding area of Waitsfield on Rt 100, the entire town is patrolled several times a month in 3 to 5 day periods. The county sheriff will commonly drive back and forth pulling over car after car without even turning the lights off. At night the sheriff can be found at the local pizza shack parking lot, hiding tucked up into Jake’s Autoworld parking lot, hiding across from Bridge St, tucked up backwards across from the old Eclipse Theater, hiding in the Mobil station in the center of town and also generally cruising around. The officer uses instant-on KA radar and will pull cars over for 7mph+ over the posted 35mph limit. This same sheriff will also routinely drive down Rt 100B in Moretown and look for early morning travellers doing over the uselessly slow 50mph speed limit. Best advice, do not speed in the limits of the town of Waitsfield, there is the chance that it is the week the sheriff chooses to enforce this area.
