State Route 9 near East of Molly Stark Park Rd. Entrance

Wilmington, VermontJun 15, 20070 Comments

Police car is park upwards of the road in a reverse directional driveway.. as you are proceeding east on Route 9 past the entrance to Molly Stark State Park and just before The Horizon Inn. The road expands to a 2 lane passing lane here and curves so you dont have a sight of line to their vantage point.. tendency is for many motorists to gun it here going uphill.. 50 mph posted limit.

State Route 36770 near Hardware Store

Wilmington, VermontFeb 20, 20070 Comments

Routes 9 & 100 converge in Wilmington and the local police take the towns 20 MPH speed limit seriously. So should you at all hours. Officers like to sit in the Ace Hardware parking lot. Drivers with defective equipment ie:tail lights, headlights etc are likely to draw attention. Lots of weekend tourists pass through town, just take it easy and so will the man.

State Route 9E near True Value

Wilmington, VermontJan 28, 20050 Comments

Next to or behind a small Hot Dog/Ice Cream cart in the True Value parking lot. As you come up the hill on RT 9 East from the traffic light, don’t do more than 30, especially if you are from out-of-state. As you crest the hill, you’ll find a quarter-mile straight, with the Post Office, Sunoco station, and True Value. They sit parked and dark, facing the eastbound lane, just waiting for some fool to come moving through at 35 or 40. Speed limit is 25. It’s an easy place for tickets, take care not to get busted for something so pointless.
