Annandale, Virginia Speed Traps
State Route 236 near Hummer Road
Photo-radar trap at intersection of Route 236 and Hummer Road. It is the first traffic signal you encounter when driving eastbound on Rt. 236 coming from the I-495 Beltway-Annandale exit interchange. It is a Red-Light gotcha. I have seen it snap photos many times there as I wait to make a turn from Hummer onto Rt. 236. Don’t try to beat the Yellow at that signal when going east or westbound on Rt. 236 and you will be okay.
Little River Turnpike near Braddock Road
heading EAST on 236 ( heading away from annandale towards LANDMARK* little river turnpike * in the morning rush around 7-9 am right before you intersect with BRADDOCK RD there is uaually a marked ( sometimes unmarked ) car shooting radar, the officer is sitting in the driveway right before THOMAS JEFFERSON school entrance on the right hand side of the road he / she is hard to see due to some trees and bushes right before the drive way so watch out ( but soon these officers will have no cover of bush due to new construction of town homes there ha ha ! good luck everyone

Motorcycle cop stands on right side of Gallows Road (heading towards Annandale from Beltway)w/ radar gun just as you dip downhill towards Woodburn Elementary school.
Wakefield Chapel Drive near NoVa Community College
Motorcycle officers with radar sit on shoulder of southbound Wakefield Chapel Drive where road narrows at top of hill near intersection with Briar Creek Drive to detect students leaving college parking lot headed towards Braddock Road and commuters heading into neighborhood from Little River Turnpike. 35 mph zone, but the downgrade on the approach makes it easy to gain speed.
