Often shooting radar at westbound traffic on Rt 29 and Old Dominion Dr.
Will often shoot radar heading south on Lorcom Ln (toward Old Dominion Dr and Lee Hwy (Rt 29). Several m/c police parked in the shade on the sidewalk – hard to see before too late
Columbia Pike just before Pentagon South Parking Lot
Police stand on road divider under overpass just before South Parking entrance/ramp to Washington Blvd. to Memorial Bridge and after exit to 395 south. Police car blocks right lane under overpass, and police have laser to monitor speed, which is 25 mph. Easy to catch you making right turn from Navy gas station on Joyce St. or coming down Columbia Pike hill. Police there several days per week during non-rush hours, and weekends!
Moray Lane @ Columbia Pike, Near Leesburg Pike
Here’s how bad things are in Arlington – the Circuit City at Moray Lane & Columbia Pike (near Leesburg Pike) went out of business but there’s still a stop sign in its parking lot. Even though the lot is almost always mostly empty now, only the small sporting goods store in the lot’s corner remains in business, late last month I saw an Arlington cop sitting in the lot with his lights on. His lights were pointed right at the stop sign, waiting for someone to run it, or at least creep through it fast enough for him to make a case of it. This was around 8pm, well after sunset, so you couldn’t see the rack on top of his car. I thought it was odd that a car would just be sitting there with its lights on, pointed at the sign, in front of an out-of-business store. Good thing I stopped. Anybody else seen this? I went through the previous entries for Arlington and didn’t see this one so wanted to post it. This might be a new gig for the Arlington cops since the Circuit City closed last year. Monitoring a now-pointless stop sign in the middle of an empty parking lot, lame isn’t it? Don’t get victimized, Arlington cops and courts are merciless.
Roosevelt Blvd & N Roosevelt St
A cop usually hides in his cruiser behind the tree in the marked parking lot catching speeders. Speed limit at this location is 25 MPH.
N. George Mason Drive
Going South on N. George Mason Dr. from Washington Blvd. light, (Lacey Woods Park on right side), long flat stretch of George Mason is easy to get up to 40, they will walk out from side street (right before I-66 overpass) and laser you.
