Arlington, Virginia Speed Traps
Glebe Road near State Route 123
Going north on Glebe on the stretch just before downhill to Chain Bridge. The trap is going from 35 mph to 25 mph on an apparently wide open road. Multiple vehicles have been pulled at teh same time.
Quincy Street near 14th Street
motorcyce will sit at the W&L High school parking lot. Limit is 25 at all times. Police cars will also sit over the hill heading north as well. If you do 35 or more, you will get a ticket.
Patrick Henry Drive near 9th and 10th Road
Officer Hill(most of the time)sites at the bottom of a very long hill. Limit is 25, and it is very easy to hit 35-38. If you hit 35 or more, your done. He is a jerk and will not only give you a ticket without further comment, but will pile it on for the Judge if you try to get it knocked down.
North Glebe Road near Chain Bridge Crossing
Coming up the treacherous two lane incline off of Chain Bridge onto North Glebe Road the officers sit where it is already a dual four lane road. Speed limit on the two lane 25 MPH, speed limit on the four dual lane 35 MPH. What they are doing is very distracting and treacherous as testified by the speed limit 25 MPH. If the speed limit is 25 MPH why are they putting you and your passengers at risk distracting you with an ENGINEERED RADAR TRAP? I think there is some liability exposure to Arlington here on their part, Heaven forbid an accident should occur because they are providing an Engineered distraction.
Lee Highway and North Ohio Street
Very good looking Arlington County motorcycle cops usually have this speed trap and another three blocks away in the opposite direction handled. I have seen them pull off as manay as six cars at a time. The best part about slowing down in that area, is being able to get a better look at the police office. The posted rate is much lower than traffic normally flows. End of the month ticketing is most common.
