Blacksburg, Virginia Speed Traps

There is a steep hill not far off the exit ramp for Virginia Tech when you round that first turn for Route 460. You go over an overpass and then aproach the large straight declining hill on 460. Police like to sit off to the shoulder of the hill right after you break the crest of it (Usually at night). Ive received a reckless ticket here before. Keep your speed down (the speed limit is 65mph I believe) and if you happen to pass a cop on the hill, the only exit for awhile is at the top of the other side.

Cops sit at bottom of last hill towards Warm Hearth Drive on North side of road.

Troopers always near writing tickets. I-81 South of Roanoke is a giant speed trap.

Blacksburg police officer will sit on the sidewalk by the stoplight at the bottom of the hill. Officer is not visible until you come around the corner on prices fork road.. mainly only there during the nighttime hours

There will be either one or two Blacksburg cops, Christiansburg cops, or sheriffs on the median in the little road where you can U-Turn. When there are two, they will be facing different ways, usually talking to each other but that doesn’t mean they aren’t paying attention to the radar. ESPECIALLY be aware of this during both Blacksburg and Christiansburg prom, and for all the graduations (BHS, CHS, Va Tech and Radford U.) because there’s a 50% chance they will be there those days (esp. Tech grad), and they are ALWAYS there on those nights.
