Chesterfield, Virginia Speed Traps

Police will sit in the median where you first get on the bridge or off to the side of the road when going west. Speed limit is 45 MPH but most people travel faster as it is more like a highway across the bridge linking Henrico and Chesterfield County. Traffic is never heavy on the bridge. It is actually a highway that turns into a 4 lane road after the bridge ends in a more residential area.

This is a residential area but the speed limit is very low and it is a connecting road to two major roads with speed limits on those roads 10 MPH higher. Police will hide at stop signs for cross roads, off to the side in the bushes, on motorcycle or car, and even as open as in the parking lot to the community center. Most drivers in this area are friendly and will warn others if a cop is up ahead. This speed trap has been in existence for many years and is an easy money maker for the cops.

On the new section of Woolridge going to 288, the speed limit is 35. Beware.

The speed limit drops to 45 from 55 about 1 mile east of I-95. This zone is heavily patrolled and tickets are written for violations in either direction.
