Fairfax County Parkway, 7100 south, near Burke Lake Rd.

Fairfax, VirginiaSep 10, 20101 Comments

Officers sit on hidden road to the right, just before the Burke Lake Rd. intersection on south bound 7100. They emerge in yellow traffic vests into oncoming 50 mph traffic pointing at various cars to pull over. This creates a very dangerous situation for all involved as motorists have to respond to police instructions while travelling at a substantial rate of speed.

Interstate I-95, 395, 495 near Interstate 395/495/95 Intersections

Fairfax, VirginiaJul 01, 20081 Comments

Since the completion of the new mixing bowl where 395/95/495 come together, there are several areas where one or another of these highways merge together, often with a Jersey barrier seperating the two. The cops sit behind the Jersey Barrier in perfect postion and hidden to nail those merging onto one or the other of these highways. Because many of these highways are now on high flyways, you are decending and picking up speed. I was nailed this way, but because I would not pull over until I could put myself and the Police Officer in a safe place (stopping someone on these highways is very dangerous for the Officer). I pulled onto the shoulder and then further onto the grass – thise officer only gave me a ticket for no front plate. But he had me for reckless driving because of my speed. I was driving a Corvette.
