211, both sides of Shenandoah River

State Troopers most often set up just east of the South Fork, on 211. They usually sit about a quarter mile east of the river, up the hill from the river, in the cut in the median near the top of the hill. On occasion, they set up a bit east of there, in the grass on the right side, for eastbound traffic heading toward Luray. They also sit in cut in the median near the bottom of the hill, immediately east of the river. There, they usually catch truckers for truck inspections. I’ve also seen a trooper occasionally sitting on the eastbound traffic side just west of the river, hiding in a driveway maybe a couple hundred yards from the river, hidden by rising terrain on either side of the driveway.

Trooper set just over the hill as you pass the food lion on your right. The speed changes from 50 to 55 and the stretch is downhill.

town is located at junction of highway 211 and highway 340.

occur on all roads leading into town N.S.E and W. State and local town enforcement. Target sports cars, out of state cars, and young drivers. Zero tolerance.

There are several in this town. On 211 west, State Police are constant. One trooper in particular is known to harass anyone who is not "young,Blonde, Female." The local town police will also pull over out of state cars, they will check tinted window levels even though they are light. They are also very hard on young drivers. This town has a zero tolerance level. They will sit at areas where there is a sudden 10 mile drop in the speed limit. There seem to be way too many police on the force for such a small town. Guess their excessive ticketing is a way to pay all the officers. It is a beautiful area and relies highly on tourist traffic, so it is a shame that something is not done to straighten this areas law enforcement out before the reputation of the town and county is totally ruined.
