Meadowview, Virginia Speed Traps

Meadowview is a small unincorporated village in Washington County between Abingdon and Emory, VA on Hillman Highway. Approaches from both east and west have a speed limit of 25 mph for a total of 1.5 miles. This is artificially slow, except for maybe a quarter-mile of retail area at the center of the village. Driving that slow is an unnatural act and even cruise control balks at it! It is a favorite spot at the end of the month for sheriff’s deputies getting their monthly quotas. Beware!

Sheriff’s Deputies stand atop Exit 22 bridge and uses laser. Radios speed to as many as 6-10 waiting chase cars. Can be used on North and South bound sides.
