Newport News, Virginia Speed Traps
Yorktown Rd & I- 64
On Yorktown road as it passes by Lee Hall Plantation, just as people are turning off I-64, going toward Rte 60. Police hide on the left in trees or in entrance to the apartment complex on right, just after you pass the Plantation. Speed limit is 25mph and locals observe it scrupulously along this well known speed trap.
Brick Kiln Blvd & Windbrook Cir
Cops will sit in this divider and clock traffic coming from both sides of 64. Keep an eye out! Hard to spot the cops on the bikes, cars also tend to blend in with the tops of the jersey barriers here.
Interstate 64 East
On I-64 East bound right by the Jefferson Avenue exit, the traffic gets backed up and people tend to try to jump in line and drive between the post barricade to get to the second exit. When coming home from work, I always see a State Police car stopping someone on the emergency lane.
Interstate 64 East near Exit Number Jefferson Avenue
The motorcycle officer parks his bike behind the concrete wall at the end of the exit. He gets off his bike and stands behind the wall at the end of the exit and points the radar gun toward traffic coming eastbound. You cannot even see the officer. Excellent place for a speedtrap!
