Lucas Creek Road near Bridge

Speed limit changes from 35 to 25 at beginning of down slope to bridge. Real easy to speed without knowing it. Take care and brake hard or you will get nailed.

Roanoke Avenue near Briaifield Road

Newport News, VirginiaJul 16, 20070 Comments

Between Mercury Blvd. & 48th St. on Roanoke Ave. The Police constantly use two cruisers & one motorcycle (stationed @ Briarfield Rd.) They clock you @ DMV or 48th St. & have the Cycle Cop pull you somewhere in between. I live between Briairfield & 48th St.(which by the way is a No Thru truck zone) & we have three moving companys on 48th & below thar have trucks flying through there @ all hours of the day & night while families cruise thru @ 30mph & get ticketed all the time. Where is the justice/enforcement of the Truckers while everday, law-abiding citizens pay for the needed improvements on our two lane, quiet @ night except for the moving vans that are obviously overweight for our little street? Avoid Roanoke @ all Cost on the beginning or end of the month -quotas must be met ( and please do not do any discounting of the finances involved because everyone knows that’s how the cities make $)

Boxley Boulevard near Hensley Drive

Traveling from Warwick Blvd. to Menchville Rd. on Boxley Blvd. the speed limit changes from 35mph to 25 mph just before you reach Hensley Dr. Police units sit in the cul de sac on right side facing oncoming traffic. This is usually from time of dark through all hours of the night. There is daily enforcement activity at this site.

J Clyde Morris Road near Jefferson Avenue

Newport News, VirginiaMar 27, 20060 Comments

Cops are sitting off the sides of the road on J Clyde Morris between Jefferson and Warwick. I’ve seen them hide on side streets a few times as well. This usually happens in the early hours of the morning. The speed limit in this area was recently reduced from 45 mph to 35 and 25 mph.

Denbigh Boulevard near Jefferson Avenue

Newport News, VirginiaDec 23, 20051 Comments

Denbigh Boulevard if you are coming toward Jefferson Avenue over the overpass. There is constantly a police officer sitting on a motorcycle pointing his radar gun at you as you are coming over the over pass. He sits in front of the median where the traffic lanes are for the stop light at Denbigh and Jefferson facing oncoming traffic.
