Kempsville Road near Under I-64

Norfolk, VirginiaJul 23, 20040 Comments

Traveling toward Princess Anne Rd/Newtown Rd from Virginia Beach Blvd on Norfolk Kempsville Rd. Norfolk cops park in a small lot on just past the Interstate overpass and shoot Radar at people heading toward the VB line. This is almost across from the First Baptist Church. You will not see them until it is way to late. I was lucky and had the red light at Koger Center so he didn’t get me.

Northampton Boulevard near Princess Anne Road

Norfolk, VirginiaJun 22, 20040 Comments

When headed south on Northampton Blva (US Rt13) it crosses Military Hwy and turns into Princess Anne Rd. At this point, it goes from a 6-lane to a 4-lane roadway. The speed limit drops from 45mph to 40mph. These limits in themselves are not restrictive, but the 40mph sign is covered by a large bush planted by the city.

US Highway 13 near Interstate 264

Norfolk, VirginiaJun 22, 20040 Comments

When you cross the 264 overpass into Virginia Beach, the Norfolk police sit on the other side of the overpass in the grass median. I have seen as many as 4 cruisers there. The posted speed limit is 40mph, but should be about 60. This is a 6-lane highway. When it was widened to 6 from 4, the speed limit was dropped 5mph.

Shore Drive at Little Creek Base

Norfolk, VirginiaJan 23, 20030 Comments

Traveling between Diamnd Springs Road and Little Creek Road on Shore Drive (in the Vicinity of The Amphib Base) you can likely see marked police hiding on either side of the road in turn off areas. One of their favorite spots is just over the bridge heading towards little creek road. Posted speed limit is 45mph. Traffic often goes at 60mph.

Granby Street right after 564 stoplight

Norfolk, VirginiaNov 19, 20020 Comments

Right after the 564 lane coming from base, make a left onto Granby, the police like to sit in the middle grassy median or in the Cemetary entrances. Speed Limit is 25 mph, I don’t suggest going over 30. I have seen them sit the whole way along there into Oceanview on Granby. Also, 4th View Dead End where the Naval Housing starts, a base cop usually sits at the one way after dark with lights off. And then after making the left turn to go along housing, there’s a bend after the 3rd parking lot, they sit behind those houses that look abandoned during any time of day.
