Pearisburg, Virginia Speed Traps
In either the median for North bound traffic, on the side of the road for South bound traffic.
In response to previous post I have occassionally seen VSP cars sitting at the foot of the hill at the cross over on Wilburn Valley Rd./ RT-100 near the Moose Lodge.
A quarter of a mile past the Mooselodge on Rt. 100. At the top of a mildly sloping hill there is usually a Pearisburg sherriff that sits barely on the other side of hill. When you are driving you can’t see the car from any other point until you reach the top of the hill and he has already caught you on his radar. I have seen this cop every time I have driven past on Friday evenings around 5. The speed limit is 55 and do not go anything past 60 through this area of Rt. 100
While working in a convience store in Grundy,(more than 100 miles away) a man in service had commented he had gotten a speeding ticket in this location, i commented i had recieved one also, two people standing there had also been ticketed for speeding in this area.
The road is very scenic, with steep straight grades, easy to exceed the 55 mph limit, even on cruise control the speed will approach 80 in the dips
