The eastbound lanes of 164 eastbound shift onto a new roadway between Cedar Land and West Norfolk Road, with the speed limit if 45 MPH, even though traffic runs through safely at 55. Portsmouth Police are now running radar here at all hours of the day and night. Be careful.

West Norfolk Road near Intersection at Cedar Lane

Cops like to sit in the parking lot of Sweethaven Baptist Church. They use radar to get people comming speeding around the corner of the LONG 25mph section of West Norfolk Road. They also like to sit further down, hiding parallel with the railroad tracks. They’re almost impossible to see untill they’ve caught you. My advice is do no more then 30mph in the 25mph section of West Norfolk Road. They WILL catch you.

Twin Pines Road near Hedgerow Lane

Portsmouth, VirginiaJul 31, 20050 Comments

When you drive down Twin Pines Road in the Churchland neighborhood of Portsmouth heading north, the speed limit is 35 miles per hour. Then there is a sign that says "reduce speed ahead." Then the speed limit drops down to 25 miles per hour. There is a police officer that hides behind the church that is near the sign and tickets EVERY car that forgets to slow down. I AM NOT JOKING! When I went to traffic court, I saw at least 10 people who received a ticket from a police at that particular area in one day!
