Courthouse Road near Wild Turkey Drive
Cops sit in middle median between East and West bound lanes of Courthouse Rd just past Wild Turkey Rd.
US Highway U.S. Route 1 near State Route 606
Trap is normally about 1/4 mile south of Rt 606 on US Rt 1 in Thornburg, VA. It is usually a Spotsylvania Count Sherrif, but sometimes it is VA State Trooper. Trap usually present in early rush hour mornings, but can be anytime.
Spotsylvannia Parkway near State Route 1
Both marked and unmarked state and local police sit on the shoulder of the parkway. Speed limit is 45, however a policeman told me it’s not unusual to observe vehicles travel in 65+. Be very carefull in this area!
State Route 3 near State Route 620
Work zone speed limit reduced to 35 miles per hour, it is enforced all time of the day and night even when workers are not working. The reduced speed is for worker safety, the contractor is not working at 4:30 A.m. Fines are much higher in a work zone for speeding, this is another effort to raise money for the couty, I guess the taxes we pay are not enough.
southpoint Boulevard near courthouse Road
near route one the posted speed limit is 35 and changes to 25 near courthouse road. the area on either side is currently under commercial development. officers often sit outside their car or off the motorcycles. they have been known to stand BEHIND construction signs.
